Bitter jester music festival on the radio

Some examples of the radio press coverage we have received over the years.

The Bitter Jester Foundation for the Arts is always looking for ways to promote and showcase the outstanding musicians accepted to its Music Festival (formerly "Battle of the Bands") every year. One of those ways is by taking select bands and solo artists onto live radio programs to share their thoughts and their music.

WBEZ, 91.5 FM

Chicago Public Radio

Popular WBEZ shows like Morning Edition with Tony Sarabia and Worldview with Jerome McDonnell have featured the stories & musicians who make the Bitter Jester Music Fest possible. Minor Interruption also showcased our artists and their work!

WRSE, 88.7 FM

Elmhurst Rock Variety

WRSE's "Underbelly Hours" is a radio show based out of Elmhurst College dedicated to giving unsigned local artists air time. The Bitter Jester Music Fest and its bands have appeared numerous times on the show and it's been great!

WGN, 720 AM

Chicago's Very Own

Throughout its entire 9th Season, The Bitter Jester Music Festival was fortunate enough to have dozens of bands and soloists featured on WGN's former "Pretty Late" show (which aired 11pm - 2am). This included incredible live coverage of the 9th Annual Grand Finale!

WJCB, 1230 AM

The Voice of Central Illinois

WJBC is based in Bloomington-Normal, IL, and is owned by Cumulus Media. The station has been the longtime home to the Illinois State Redbirds. Since 2020, The Craig Collins Show has featured Bitter Jester musicians in its Friday music segments.

WLUW, 88.7 FM

Chicago Sound Alliance

Over the years, "Live From the Heartland," a well-established show on Loyola University's WLUW, has played host to numerous Bitter Jester musicians as they perform and speak about their craft live on the air in the early morning hours!
