Tyler Clark
Bitter Jester Music Festival Judge
Tyler Clark is a writer and performer from Chicago. A recovering college radio DJ, he's hosted the show Local Mythologies on CHIRPradio.org since 2013.
He has worked in the worlds of political messaging & press relations, freelance journalism & feature writing, and marketing strategy & execution for both the e-commerce and brick-and-mortar spaces.
He’ll craft your next brand message, wade through analytics to optimize your social presence, and deliver crisp ad copy that makes people buy whatever you're selling. If you're nice, he might even write you a poem. Tyler is a graduate of Bradley University ('06), and Georgetown University ('09).
In his spare time, Tyler sings and tells stories. Highlights include emeritus membership in the Blue Ribbon Glee Club (Chicago's only punk rock A Capella group) and a feature performance on the 2018 Netflix series The Mortified Guide!
“TMG is a 6-episode comedic docu-series where adults share their actual teenage diaries, love letters, music and art-- in front of total strangers. Based on the Mortified storytelling project which creates stage shows, books, podcasts, TV, and film.”
Tyler is excited to be returning as a Bitter Jester judging team member this summer and can’t wait to hear some more great new music! He recently reviewed Live at Bitter Jester Music Festival, vol. 02 (you can check out the full review here!) in which he said:
“This compilation’s worth it for the music alone, but the real value lies in what that music represents. Ask any in-the-know indiehead, and they’ll tell you: the American festival scene feels like its hit a nadir in 2024, and the big Chicago names aren’t exempt. At a time when festivals feel increasingly meaningless, then, it’s even more rewarding to find one that really feels like home. For me, that’s Bitter Jester.”
