Jonathan is the Content Manager at Lake County's Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Lake County or “VLC”). He has worked for VLC for five years. Prior to his marketing position at VLC, Jonathan worked for numerous publications including the Daily Herald, The Chicago Tribune, Paxton MediaGroup in Indiana, as well as in television production.

Jonathan is a writer by trade and artistically. Musically, he has played clarinet, flute, and drums, plus alto, bari, tenor, and soprano saxophone from fourth grade through the present day. He also raps and produces music by hobby.

Jonathan has released five LPs, two EPs and a mixtape under the moniker of BasiQ the Lyrical Painter. He has performed live in Chicago, many of the Illinois suburbs and state colleges, as well as in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Milwaukee in various venues. He holds a BA in Journalism and a Minor in Jazz Studies.
