Anthony Hish
Bitter Jester Music Festival Judge
Anthony Hish graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.
Despite his business degree, he has been involved in music his whole life as a percussionist. He was a member and section leader of the Illini Drumline as well as a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for 3 summers on the snareline.
Upon graduating, he formed a band called ZORILA, and began gigging around as their drummer. As the band continued to be invited to Chicago to play, he and the band eventually moved up from Central Illinois to avoid making the 2.5 hour drive from Champaign.
Since moving, the band has played many shows throughout Chicago at SubT, Chop Shop, HVAC, SoFar Sounds, Cubby Bear, and more. ZORILA also released a full album called Sidney as well as some recent singles to various streaming services.
Currently, Anthony is a clinician for the Illini Drumline and teaches private lessons in addition to ZORILA and his Finance career. He’s thrilled to join the esteemed Bitter Jester judges and thanks his ZORILZ bandmate, Michael Brook, for turning him on to the event!
